What is Dunisha?

Dunisha is the peace and healing way of earth and spirit. For many, it's a peaceful philosophy that can be applied to everyday life. For others it's a spiritual path to walk. We act as a bridge between the many faiths and cultures of the world, unconditionally teaching peace to any who seek it.

Dunisha is a philosophy comfortable for all walks of life and its spirituality is nature-based. Through our peace teachings, attendees often express how they feel closer in their own relationship with divinity and well being.

Important: although we are technically a church, it is beneficial to think of us more as a monastery that hosts community events. Due to the nature of our work, our Sunday services and classes are geared more towards adolescents and adults. However, our holiday celebrations and monthly potlucks are wonderful for all ages! Note: we do hope to have a children's program available in the near future.

Mission Statement

"The Church of Dunisha’s purpose is to build bridges of understanding, healing, and peace between the many divisions found within the hearts and minds of humanity. We accomplish this goal by building and maintaining Dunisha Monasteries and Sanctuaries that offer religious and educational services to the public, all of which emphasize the teaching and cultivation of inner peace. We affirm and believe that inner peace is the gateway for global peace, and that Peace is a Universal teaching that is all-inclusive of every walk of life."

Rites of Passage

There are many moments in our lives that mark great change. Since the dawn of humanity, we have had rituals, ceremonies, and celebrations to honor these times of transition. In Dunisha, we provide Rites of Passage ceremonies that are not traditionally religious, yet are in-tune with the Earth's natural wisdom and the collective spirit of humanity,

  • Infant & Baby Blessing

  • Coming of Age Ceremony

  • Marriage & Handfasting

  • Ritual of Parting Ways

  • New Beginnings Name Change Ceremony

  • Funeral Rites & Celebration of Life

  • Midlife Reflections & New Directions

  • Entering the Wisdom Years of Elderhood

  • And more...

We can also custom tailor rituals and ceremonies to meet your wishes.
